Dave started sailing at the age of 14 on dinghies on Lough Derg. He then became an instructor for a few years and worked for a season on a private yacht in Turkey. Dave came to Galway for university and has come, as many have, to love the place and have made it home. Dave recalls seeing the Galway Hookers out sailing, and assumed that he’d only ever be an observer until he came across the Galway Hooker Sailing Club and signed up immediately. Learning what the club has done in making these amazing boats available and accessible to all is the reason he really enjoys giving back and helping the club out whatever way he can!.
