Jim Ward hails from Salthill, Galway, and grew up with the sea. He’s a Tour Guide for the West of Ireland, speaks Irish fluently and is a published poet and author in both Irish and English. Jim joined the club in 2025 and as well as being a crew member, Jim is also a keen mountaineer/hillwalker and birdwatcher. When not sailing he may be found supporting Galway United FC in Éamon Deacy Park or away on tour somewhere.
